Well… yesterday I woke up sick and was in dire need of a tropical smoothie. You know that whole sore throat + icky, fever feeling that comes over your whole body? As soon as I felt it, I immediately ran downstairs to my fridge and popped a few garlic stuffed olives in my mouth, hoping that I could catch it in time… but I think it was a little too late. It seems like every time someone asks for a way to prevent getting sick, I always talk about my rule of garlic. Garlic has been my precautionary measure that has saved me from getting sick for many years.
I eat garlic stuffed olives pretty much every day, on top of cooking my meals with tons of garlic. I’m talking at least 6-7 cloves/day. You might think that’s a little overboard and my pores probably reek but I’m telling you.. it works. I’m not really sure if it makes me smell… Nobody has ever told me that I stink, and since my husband loves garlic more than I do, we don’t seem to have any issues.
So, I slept pretty much the entire day yesterday, in a comatose from Mucinex DM.. Let me just say… that was the best sleep ever! Today, my body is feeling a little bit better but I still wanted to find a way to juice myself up with a little bit of Vitamin C and so I put a few recipes together to come up with this tropical drink. After all, I wish I was in Maui sipping this drink, rather than chilling at my computer, blowing my nose every 5 minutes.
Ok I’m done with my rant, here goes the recipe!
